Clinical Social Worker

 

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I  received my Master's Degree from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee and I am currently taking courses to achieve my Certification in Substance Abuse Counseling. I am a member of the following professional organizations, National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI).

I have worked for a variety of non profit entities in both the Madison and Milwaukee geographical areas. I have over 10 years experience working with individuals, couples and families. My philosophy of counseling is 
client-centered, based on respect for the individual and a belief in each person’s intrinsic value.  I believe in the potential of the human spirit to rise above painfullife situations I believe it is my responsibility as a counselor to assess what the client's needs are, to offer hope and support, and to empower them to make the necessary changes in their lives so they can reach their goals and realize their full potential.

My specialty areas include; adjustment issues, anxiety and panic disorders, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, mood disorders, relationship problems, self-esteem issues, and spiritual concerns.  I have a particular interest in women, aging and geriatric issues.
